Our program @ this special Zoom Meeting will address the following topics:
-- Reference to SEC Chair Gensler’s 6/9 comments on CNBC; namely, that contrary to what Congress may be signaling, the Commission is clearly authorized to impose disclosure regulation regarding ESG and Climate Change matters. The extent of such disclosure will take a reasonable amount of time & analysis to put in place. Indeed, there will be challenging questions posed in the months ahead regarding issuers’ disclosure and representations by funds themselves.
-- Regarding Climate Change, there will be medical and scientific developments applicable to projects being financed; so we look to our own Dr. Stanley Zaborowski (AMT’s Medical Adviser) for an explanation of several basic examples of what lies ahead at this early stage of CC. This will help financial services folks as they begin to analyze the real world considerations of future multi-dimensional environmental projects.
-- Already, ESG is happening from the standpoint of investment managers. This is a good development. And @ today’s Zoom meeting, we will turn to Xavier Touret, AMT’s Market Practices Adviser, to provide an overview of the realities associated with these relatively recent activities in the funds marketplace.
