WHAT IS HERD IMMUNITY? In a nutshell, herd immunity in the U.S. is the process of reaching a level of immunity from COVID – 19 on the part of a certain percentage of the overall population. Once that target is reached, COVID – 19 will have effectively been eliminated. The highly touted vaccines that are currently being developed are essential to this process, but so are other scientific factors that our Nation’s top infectious disease physicians are currently analyzing.
