COVID – 19 Update / Effects on Financial Services – Asset Managers Tech (AMT) is paying close attention to the evolution of the pandemic. As a society, we are enduring a totally unique set of circumstances. To date, however, we are meeting the challenge.
Our trade group’s medical adviser, Dr. Zaborowski, mentioned on today’s AMT Zoom presentation that positivity cases are now rising in Europe. But whether we see a similar increase in the Northeast in the U.S. is to be determined. Unlike at the beginning of 2020, trans – Atlantic air travel at this time is down quite a bit, so transmission of the virus to the U.S. is perhaps less likely to occur.
Also, front line doctors and nurses in our country are now more experienced concerning the treatment of infected patients; and, thus, the COVID - 19 death count is likely to decline in our hospitals going forward when compared to the initial coronavirus surge last spring.
It is fair to say that the pandemic is not static. Accordingly, AMT is committed to following the facts and the science relating to this pandemic and disseminating this information to industry members.
